Law no. 37/2020 published in the Official Gazette Part I no. 280 of April 3rd, 2020 amending art. 39 of Law no. 53/2003 – Labour Code and art. 94 of the National Education Law no. 1/2011, brings the following clarifications:

Comment: This normative act amends article 139 of the Labor Code by introducing two new paragraphs, as follows: “2¹ For employees who belong to a legal, Christian religious cult, the free days for Good Friday – the last day of Friday before Easter, the first and the last two days of Easter, the first and second day of Pentecost are granted depending on the date when they are celebrated by that cult. “

And 3¹ which states: “The employees who benefited from the free days for the Good Friday – the last day of Friday before Easter, the first and second day of Easter, the first and second day of Pentecost, both at the dates set for the legal, Christian religious cult, of which they belong, as well as for another Christian cult, they will recover the extra free days based on a program established by the employer .”
