The year 2024 brought significant changes to the legislation regarding the employment of non-EU citizens. BIA HCS consultants have successfully implemented these changes into their working procedures, ensuring that processes such as assistance with obtaining work visas, study visas, or business visas are 100% compliant with the updated legislation. This gives our clients the confidence that all actions are carried out correctly and efficiently. In 2025, they will have our support in employing foreign citizens, with the quota for this year being 100,000 new foreign workers admitted to the labor market in Romania.

What were the most important achievements of the immigration consultancy team in 2024? What advantages do you, as an employer, have if you choose to support the BIA HCS team in hiring foreign citizens? Find out from Ioana Dobre, Consultancy Senior Manager at BIA HCS.

Among the team’s most significant accomplishments are:

  • Signing over 45 new contracts for immigration assistance services;
  • Obtaining more than 150 residence permits for foreign citizens;
  • Approving over 120 work permits;
  • Providing assistance to more than 100 foreign citizens for applications for other types of long-stay visas (family reunification, visas for administrators, various activities).

WHAT SETS US APART FROM OTHER IMMIGRATION CONSULTANCY COMPANIES?

One of the elements that define BIA HCS services is our active involvement in each project. We approach every case with the utmost seriousness, regardless of its complexity.

Our client is not just a recipient of our services, but a partner. From the initial consultation about the process, completing online applications, assisting with authorities, to collecting the final documents, we ensure that each stage is carried out with professionalism and efficiency.

BENEFITS FOR CLIENTS WHO CHOOSE BIA HCS

Although immigration legislation is established and processes are well-defined by the authorities, our 17+ years of expertise allow us to offer clients an efficient experience. By choosing BIA HCS, employers benefit from:

  • Full support throughout the entire process of hiring foreign workers;
  • Reduction in the time required to obtain documents;
  • Specialized assistance and personalized consultancy for each specific situation.

Our partners benefit from the following activities once BIA takes over the immigration assistance services:

  • Initial analysis and evaluation of documentation to determine the appropriate visa type;
  • Assistance with obtaining work visas, study visas, or business visas;
  • Analysis of specific immigration needs for family members that expatriates employed in Romania wish to relocate with them;
  • Support for obtaining permanent residence;
  • Consultancy for situations such as planned trips outside Romania;
  • Assistance with obtaining registration certificates for EU/EEA/Swiss Confederation citizens, and residence cards for their family members;
  • Support for maintaining relationships with relevant institutions.

Employers are required to sign individual labor contracts within 15 working days from the foreigner’s arrival in Romania or the issuance of the work permit. Failure to comply with this deadline results in penalties ranging from 5,000 to 10,000 lei, except in cases where the delay is the foreigner’s fault. These are just a few of the provisions of Emergency Ordinance 25/2024. Discover here other obligations for employers.

SUPPORT FOR EMPLOYERS FACING DIFFICULTIES IN HIRING FOREIGN WORKERS

One of the biggest obstacles for employers is the duration and complexity of the immigration process. Obtaining work permits and residence permits requires significant time and resources. Therefore, employers need to be well-informed about:

  • The actual timelines for obtaining documents;
  • Necessary appointments with authorities;
  • The high demand for certain types of visas can lead to prolonged waiting periods.

Through our expertise, we assist employers in navigating these challenges, ensuring a fast and efficient process.

Partnering with the BIA HCS team means gaining access to the experience and professionalism of our experts, who provide consultancy on the process of obtaining documents for foreign citizens, completing online applications, assisting authorities, and collecting final documents. We ensure that each step is carried out with professionalism and efficiency, facilitating foreign workers’ access to the labor market in Romania.
