Law no. 87/2024
Law no. 87/2024 published in the Official Gazette no. 338 of 11.04.2024 for the amendment and completion of Law no. 165/2018 regarding the granting of securities, as well as for the amendment of para. (21) of art. 1 of the Government’s Emergency Ordinance no. 8/2009 regarding the granting of vacation vouchers, makes the following clarifications:
Comement: In Article 1, after paragraph (2), a new paragraph is inserted, para. (3), with the following content: “(3) For the purposes of this law, by electronic means is understood any physical device or virtual instrument that can be used by the beneficiary to carry out operations with the securities.”
Also, this law amends para. (21) of art. 1 of the Government’s Emergency Ordinance no. 8/2009 regarding the granting of vacation vouchers in the sense that the term “vacation voucher” will be interpreted as referring to both the paper vacation voucher and the electronic vacation voucher. The electronic holiday voucher can also be used for online payment.
This Law will enter into force on 11.05.2024.

Comment: Classification of occupations in Romania — occupation level (six characters), approved by Order of the Minister of Labour, Family and Social Protection and of the President of the National Institute of Statistics no. 1.832/856/2011, published in the Official Gazette of Romania, Part I, no. 561 of August 8, 2011, with subsequent amendments and additions, is completed with the new occupations practiced within the national economy, provided in the list in the annex that is an integral part of this order:

Emergency ordinance no. 34/2024
Emergency ordinance no. 34/2024 published in the Official Gazette no. 347 of 12.04.2024 regarding some measures to support the categories of disadvantaged mother-newborn couples with social vouchers on electronic support granted from non-refundable external funds for newborns, for the amendment of Law no. 227/2015 regarding the Fiscal Code, as well as the extension of a term, makes the following statements:
Comment: Among the changes brought by this normative act, we would like to mention those brought to Law 227/2015 on the Fiscal Code, respectively those that refer to the obligation to pay CASS for medical leaves provided by GEO 158/2005.
Consequently, the current text of the law mentions that only for the following medical leave codes will CASS be conceded:
- code 01- medical leave for common illnesses;
- code 07- medical leave for quarantine;
- code10- allowance for reducing working time by a quarter of the regular hours
