Order no. 59/04.05.2022

Order no. 59/2022 of May 04th, 2022 published in the Official Gazette no. 450 of May 05th, 2022 for amending some normative acts in the field of foreign citizens, brings the following clarifications:

Comment: The application for the issuance of the employment / assignment work authorization can be submitted by the employer/the beneficiary of the service provision to any of the territorial units of the General Inspectorate for Immigration. The required documentation for the employment/assignment work authorization may be submitted by any person who is the legal representative of the employer/beneficiary of the service provision, in accordance with the law. We remind you that the previous legislation required that the files for this document could have been submitted only at the territorial unit of the General Inspectorate for Immigration from the employer’s registered office.

In addition to the above, Order no. 59/04.05.2022 states that the foreign citizens can apply for a long-stay visa for employment purposes within 180 days (instead of 60 days as previously provided) after obtaining the work authorization by the employer. The visa will be processed by the National Visa Centre within 20 days from the date of submission of the visa application (previously, the visa issuance term was of 10 days).
